Catching the last days of summer, we returned to the Via Alpina two years later and completed the two-day hike from Lauterbrunnen to Kandersteg.
Over the two days, we crossed two mountain passes above 2,600 metres, surrounded by spectacular valleys, glaciers and the beautiful Oeschinensee. We spent the night in a small village below Griesalp.
When we arrived that evening, we discovered there were no restaurants nearby. While wandering around and wondering where we could find dinner, we met a local man riding his bicycle. After hearing that we were from China, he kindly took us to the cafeteria of a nearby rehabilitation centre, where we enjoyed a much-needed buffet dinner. Before we left, he even gave each of us a biscuit.
The exhaustion of crossing mountains eventually fades, but unexpected kindness like this is what stays with you. β°οΈπ₯Ύβ€οΈ
