🇩🇪 Ein durchaus nicht unbekanntes Gebiet ist der Jardin Japonais bei Nendaz (VS). Wir wollen dieses winzige, jedoch wunderschöne Moränengebiet zusammen mit Carmen am Abend besuchen. Zu dieser Zeit ist es unberührt und still hier. Sofort fällt uns diese bonsaiähnliche, uralte Arve mit dem vielen Totholz auf. Sie ist der Hingucker des Gebietes. Fröhlich plätschert dazu das klare Bergbächlein. Fotografisch ist die Herausforderung, die zahlreichen Bergbahnen zu verbergen, welchen den Jardin Japonais umgeben. Wir sind sehr gespannt, was das Abendrot hier bringen wird. 🇬🇧 The Jardin Japonais near Nendaz (VS) is by no means an unknown area. We want to visit this tiny but beautiful moraine area with Carmen in the evening. At this time of day, it is untouched and quiet here. We immediately notice this bonsai-like, ancient Swiss stone pine with lots of dead wood. It is the eye-catcher of the area. The clear mountain stream babbles cheerfully. Photographically, the challenge is to hide the numerous mountain railways that surround the Jardin Japonais. We are very excited to see what the sunset will bring here. 🇩🇪 Auch an diesem Abend fällt das Abendrot eher verhalten aus. Viele Wolken bedecken den Himmel. Doch wir lassen die Köpfe nicht hängen und geniessen einfach das Blumenmeer und die Stille. Auch Carmen fotografiert eifrig mit. Manchmal sind solche Wetterstimmungen für das eigene Wohlbefinden viel wertvoller als "Grand Beau". Zum Glück dauert die Heimfahrt aus diesem Gebiet nicht sehr lange und schon bald liegen wir wieder glücklich in unseren Betten. 🇬🇧 The sunset is rather subdued this evening too. The sky is covered with clouds. But we don't let it get us down and simply enjoy the sea of flowers and the silence. Carmen is also busy taking photos. Sometimes weather conditions like this are much more valuable for your well-being than “grand beau.” Fortunately, the drive home from this area doesn't take very long, and soon we are happily back in our beds. 🇩🇪 Am nächsten Abend sind wir also schon wieder am Gehrihorn unterwegs. Diesmal ist Carmen auch mit von der Partie. Rasch steigen wir zusammen gegen den Grat auf, da wir unser Steinrosenmotiv (Bewimperte Alpenrose) gerne noch mit Sonne ablichten möchten. Auch heute hat es viele Wolken am Himmel, aber das macht die Sache gerade spannend. So geniessen wir das warme Abendlicht hier oben, blicken auf Niesen und Thunersee und hoffen noch auf das Abendrot. 🇬🇧 So the next evening we are back on the Gehrihorn. This time Carmen is with us too. We quickly climb up to the ridge together, as we would like to photograph our rock rose motif (ciliate alpine rose) in the sunshine. There are lots of clouds in the sky again today, but that's what makes it exciting. We enjoy the warm evening light up here, look out over Niesen and Lake Thun, and hope for a sunset. 🇩🇪 Trotz Dunst und vielen Wolken, ergibt sich über der Niesenkette noch ein verhaltenes Abendrot. Es ist wunderschön anzusehen, mit den blühenden Steinrosen. Beim Eindunkeln steigen wir dann ab und sind überzeugt, am nächsten Abend noch einmal mit Carmen hierhin zu kommen. Vielleicht haben wir da noch etwas mehr Wetterglück? 🇬🇧 Despite the haze and many clouds, there is still a subdued sunset over the Niesen chain. It is beautiful to look at, with the flowering rock roses. As darkness falls, we descend and are convinced that we will come back here again with Carmen the next evening. 🇩🇪 Die zweite Woche unserer Sommerferien verbringen mehrheitlich in der Heimat. Nach der kleinen Schweizrundfahrt haben wir die überfüllten Strassen erstmal gesehen und suchen Ziele in der nächsten Umgebung. Da bietet sich natürlich das Gehrihorn an. Zu unserer Freude blühen an seinem Südhang noch überdurchschnittlich viele Bergblumen und vorallem die schön zeichnenden Steinrosen. Auf dem Gipfelgrat finden wir dieses prächtige, runde Steinrosenpolster mit dem Totholz. Es ist an diesen Tagen einmal mehr sehr dunstig und wir rechnen schon damit, dass es keine Abendstimmung geben wird. Doch wir werden eines Besseren belehrt. Was für ein Berggemälde! Wir sind begeistert! 🇬🇧 We spend most of the second week of our summer vacation at home. After our short tour of Switzerland, we have seen the crowded roads and are looking for destinations in the immediate vicinity. The Gehrihorn is the obvious choice. To our delight, an above-average number of mountain flowers are still blooming on its southern slope, especially the beautifully patterned rock roses. On the summit ridge, we find this magnificent, round rock rose cushion with dead wood. Once again, it is very hazy these days, and we expect that there will be no evening atmosphere. But we are proven wrong. What a mountain painting! We are thrilled!
